Chris accepts briefs across a range of commercial and intellectual property matters. He has a particular focus on copyright, trade mark, and misleading or deceptive conduct litigation, and on commercial, contractual, and equity disputes. He also has significant experience in class actions, regulatory and insolvency matters.
Before being called to the Bar, Chris practised as a Senior Associate in Ashurst’s dispute resolution group in Sydney. At the Bar, he has appeared both led and unled in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales, including recent intellectual property cases such as Hubexo Australia Pty Ltd v CoreLogic Australia Pty Ltd, Aristocrat Technologies Australia Pty Limited v Light & Wonder, Inc. and Fortescue Limited v Element Zero Pty Limited; class actions such as Brady v NULIS Nominees (Australia) Limited and Davis v Wilson; and commercial matters such as Woolworths Group Ltd v Gazcorp Pty Ltd and In the matter of HIH Insurance Limited (in liquidation).
Chris obtained an LLM from Columbia Law School, where he was awarded the Walter Gellhorn Prize (highest GPA in graduating class) and was a James Kent Scholar (honours equivalent). He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science from the University of New South Wales.
